4. Georgia Bulldogs
Record: 1-1 (1-0)
Previous Ranking: 4 (Trend: — )
Last Week: Georgia 41, South Carolina 30
This Week: Bye
Next Week: North Texas
A huge win for Aaron Murray and the Georgia Bulldogs last weekend over South Carolina, saving their SEC and national title hopes.
Georgia now has two bye weeks essentially with their next game being at home against North Texas. This should give them plenty of time to get ready for LSU on September 28, the last huge hurdle between them and an 11-1 season. A home game against Florida is also in there, too.
But Florida is a team Georgia should be able to beat at home without too much of a problem, so the LSU game will likely be the decider to whether or not Georgia can make the SEC title game. And it is very hard to come up with a scenario in which the SEC title game winner doesn’t end up in the national title game.
