Casey Pachall is going to be out a few weeks with a broken arm, so Trevone Boykin will take over at quarterback for the time being. Boykin threw for 133 yards on 9-of-13 passing for two touchdowns. He also rushed for another 35 points.

Boykin may actually be the Horned Frogs best option at quarterback come Big 12 time because of his ability to run. Duel-threat quarterbacks who can also throw at an above average level tend to do well in this conference. It’ll be interesting to see if Pachall ever gets his job back.
