1. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Record: 2-0
Previous Ranking: 1 (Trend: — )
Last Week: Oklahoma State 56, Texas-San Antonio 35
This Week: vs. Lamar
Next Week: Bye
Aside from the Sports Illustrated report, things are going as planned for the Cowboys.
J.W. Walsh has taken the reigns of the quarterback job and is excelling. He threw just three incompletions in 27 passes with four touchdowns and no turnovers in the win. Walsh also rushed for another touchdown.
There are things they need to work on, of course. The running game averaged just 2.7 yards per carry in this past week, and they did give up 35 points to UTSA, so not everything is going swimmingly on the field. Still, the Cowboys are clearly the best team in the league through two weeks, and look poised to make a strong run for the title.
