SEC Power Rankings: Georgia Loss, Ole Miss Win Shakes Up Top Nine
By Ben Nielsen
2. Texas A&M Aggies
Record: 1-0
Previous Ranking: 3 (Trend: Up)
Last Week: Texas A&M 52, Rice 31
This Week: vs. Sam Houston State
Next Week: vs. Alabama
Johnny Manziel is money – figuratively speaking.
After being forced to sit out the first half against Rice because of an autograph signing scandal, Manziel passed for three touchdowns and 94 yards on six-of-eight passing. Manziel was the same bolt of energy we saw last season, but he clearly has more edge to him. He’s going to be fun to watch.
A&M gets one more tune up against Sam Houston State before their huge game against Alabama on September 14. The Aggies will be missing several starters on defense again this week, but everyone is expected to be back by the Alabama game.
Assuming Manziel plays, it will be hard to bet against him. He’s clearly in “Eff you” mode.
