14. Kentucky Wildcats
Last Season: 2-10 (0-8)
Key Addition: Mike Stoops
Key Word: Recruiting
Outlook:
There is a small, outside chance, the Kentucky Wildcats go winless this season. It is going to require another upset loss to Western Kentucky and an (unlikely) loss to Alabama State to pull it off, but it is still a possibility. Non-conference games against Miami (Ohio) and Louisville are almost certain losses, and another winless SEC season seems certain as none of their conference games appear to be winnable. It is going to be a long road for Kentucky this season.
But there is hope on the horizon in the form of a Stoops brother.
Mark Stoops took the reigns of the program in November of last year, leaving as Florida State’s defensive coordinator to take over the SEC rebuilding project. The first step was to improving recruiting which they have already done at a tremendous level. Rivals.com currently has Kentucky with the seventh best recruiting class in the nation, including the nation’s sixth best pro-style quarterback.
Unfortunately, the Wildcats are going to have to wait another year before those recruits get on campus. Until then it is going to be a rough.
