1) Adrian Peterson

Peterson is the clear cut choice as the first running back who should be selected, and the first player who should be selected overall. He had a monster year in 2012 – 348 carries, 2,097 yards, and 12 rushing touchdowns. Do not expect those numbers again. Hope for 1,600 yards and maybe you won’t be disappointed. His heavy workload last year, plus his injury history should temper your expectations just a bit. Peterson also has averaged nearly 30 receptions a year, so that is a nice bonus. He is still only 28, so you can expect a couple more prime years here – just not 2,000 yards.
