7) Cam Newton, Carolina. While I put a premium on passing yards and touchdowns, you cannot ignore Newton’s 760 yards in 2012 and his 8 rushing touchdowns in 2012. He is a bit riskier than some of the other options available but his rushing touchdowns offset his lower number of passing tallies. He is a big, durable signal caller who seems to be improving his overall play. If you take a receiver in the first or second round of your draft, instead of a running back, Newton would be a great pick to supplement your running game. I would not take him over any of the guys above him for any reason, but he offers value if you choose to grab a premium wide receiver rather than a top running back early on. If you like running quarterbacks, Newton is the safest choice.
