The Kansas City Chiefs find themselves in a difficult situation when it comes to the future at running back. Jamaal Charles has been great for them, but Spencer Ware appears to be the future.
For the past several years, when people talked about the Kansas City Chiefs the conversation eventually centered on Jamaal Charles. In the NFL, offensive players are the stars. For Kansas City in recent history, the only player on offense to attain that level of status was Jamaal Charles. However, that may be set to change as Charles’s future in KC is a little foggier than expected.
There is no denying that Jamaal Charles has been one of the best running backs in the NFL during his tenure. Though injuries and the depth chart limited his carries in several years of his career, the production of Jamaal Charles rates with the best all time. That’s nothing new to Chiefs fans who have gotten used to the organization producing strong running backs.
Christian Okoye, Marcus Allen, Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, and Jamaal Charles have all excelled at running back for the Chiefs. The fans know their names well. It’s a point of pride for Chiefs Kingdom, and Charles may be the best of them. Jamaal Charles has put up numbers that place him amongst the best ever. Especially with his yards per carry mark that is currently best all time.
I loved playing with Jamaal Charles. He's incredible. But the Chiefs have been fine without him. Got to think they move on after the season

Jamaal Charles has been an exciting player ever since he replaced a declining Larry Johnson. Since then, Charles has consistently made highlight reel runs from all parts of the field. That culminated in a 2013 campaign that saw Charles put up 19 total touchdowns. Since then, there has been little doubt that the Kansas City offense would run through Charles.
Well, that was until a young man named Spencer Ware broke onto the scene…
