With the NFL draft in just a few months, it’s time for everyone on the internet to partake in their own 2015 NFL mock drafts. I used Fanspeak’s On the Clock feature to do a mock draft of my own and was quite surprised with who was still available when I drafted as the KC Chiefs in the first round.

Let’s take a look at the results!

Round 1, Pick 18

This will never happen. Boy if it did though, the Kansas City Chiefs would be complete idiots not to jump at the chance at drafting Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper. Cooper is a crazy good receiver and proved that during his tenure with the Crimson Tide.

I’m not sure how Cooper fell this far in this particular mock draft, but just know that there is a very slim chance of this actually happening come draft day. Cooper is projected as the best wide receiver available in this year’s draft and is slated to go in the top five. He’s been projected to go to the Oakland Raiders (boo) in most of the drafts I’ve read. As Chiefs fans, that would not be good if Cooper ended up as a Raider.

No other team took a wide receiver prior to the Chiefs in this mock draft. I found that rather interesting. While this is an unlikely scenario, Amari Cooper was still on the board in this mock draft (which you can see for yourself in the link I provided in the first paragraph) and the Kansas City Chiefs didn’t hesitate to add the former Alabama wide out to their roster.
