With the offseason program beginning last week for the Kansas City Chiefs, I wanted to take a moment to analyze five players who need to step up big for the team in 2014.

John Dorsey didn’t go on a shopping spree in free agency, as that was expected due their salary cap issue. So, the Chiefs are left to rely on talent they already have, and, rookies that they draft this May to fill any and all holes that they might have on their roster. Dorsey is a firm believer in drafting and developing his own guys, rather than spend big in free agency and possibly lose big. Although, Dorsey did spend money last off season but had to because of cap regulations under the new CBA.

With that philosophy though, may come growing pains and set back seasons. The Chiefs are talented enough to make another run at the postseason this year, though it will be very, VERY tough to do so with the way their schedule looks.

If Kansas City is going to repeat their success from last year, it’s going to take some of their in house talent to step-up big in 2014. To begin the list, simply click “next” or use your left and right arrow keys to move the slides.
