Kansas City is one of the best sports towns in the country, and KC Kingdom has a lot of fun bringing you news from around the area for our professional and collegiate teams.

Few fans are as passionate about their teams than Kansas City fans, whether it is making Arrowhead Stadium the loudest outside venue in the world, or filling up Sporting Park each match, or being Royal in Kauffman Stadium. The area also supports three of the most passionate college fan bases in the country.

Each morning, we will try to bring you some news from around our sports kingdom, in addition to the news, information, editorials, and analysis KC Kingdom already provides.

We hope enjoy the news from Around The Kingdom.

Ben Nielsen gives us the latest in the Dwayne Bowe marijuana case on Arrowhead Addict. If Dwayne Bowe has to miss time for this nonsense, it could really damage the Chiefs chances of making the playoffs in 2014.

"Bowe could be subject to a four-game suspension by the NFL is it is proven he violated the league’s substance-abuse policy. There is some gray area here, too, as the NFL could suspend Bowe if he’s found guilty of a lesser charge. Tamba Hali‘s one-game suspension in 2012 is a good example of this kind of scenario."

Lorenzo Cain is the topic for David Hill on Kings of Kauffman. Hill muses on Cain’s chances of winning a Gold Glove in center field for the Kansas City Royals.

"Seemingly every game, Lorenzo Cain has been flying around the outfield, making plays on balls that most other center fielders would not get to. The proof of that goes beyond the eyeball test, as, in the early going, Cain leads all American League outfielders with a 4.14 range factor, almost double the average for center fielders."

Joel Thorman on Arrowhead Pride reports the Kansas City Chiefs are working out a running back as draft prep. Louisville running back Senorise Perry will be visiting Kansas City. The Chiefs have a lot of holes to fill, but running back can’t be high on that list. It would be irritating if they draft a running back with one of their few picks in the 2014 NFL Draft.

On Royals Review, Craig Brown stresses that while it is early, this road trip is important for the Kansas City Royals. He’s absolutely correct. Anything less than .500 on this trip is a waste. Throw in 3 more games against the Twins at home next weekend, and the Royals really need to win 6 of these games. The Royals have to win more than they lose against the sub par teams in the American League if they want to make it to playoffs.

"What we have here is a key early season stretch. I’m not doing the sports-talk radio thing where I’m calling the second game of the season a “key” game. As if the Royals lose a single game the season is over. I’m saying this group of games is important. They, collectively, are key. The Twins and the Astros are teams the Royals should be beating."

Finally, there is another wedding planned for this week on HBO’s Game of Thrones. While it will be hard to outdo the Red Wedding from season 3, I’m sure there will be plenty of excitement when King Joffrey Baratheon exchanges nuptials with Lady Margaery Tyrell. Josh Sanchez extends everyone an invitation to the wedding on FanSided.com. May Joffrey and Margaery live happily ever after.

Happy reading, and have a great day. Be sure to check out KC Kingdom throughout the day for news on the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, Tigers, Wildcats, and Jayhawks.
