The stars are aligning. Thanks to Belichick's struggles without Tom Brady and the Patriots' lost season, Andy Reid will be remembered as the greatest coach of all-time when it's all said and done.

Already widely considered the best offensive mind the NFL has ever seen, Reid has the inside track to compile more accomplishments while Belichick's career is ending with a whimper.

With Patrick Mahomes at the height of his powers and an evolving defense that may be the league's best, the table is set for a delicious meal that concludes with the masses coming to the same conclusion Chiefs Kingdom already knows: Reid is a better coach than Belichick.

Let's look at three reasons Reid will be remembered as the greatest of all-time.

3 Reasons Andy Reid is the Greatest Coach of All-Time over Bill Belichick

1. Lasting Impressions Will Favor Reid

These coaches are trending in as far of opposite directions as they could possibly trend.

Reid is working on a second consecutive Super Bowl, sitting atop the AFC with a 5-1 record after hosting five consecutive AFC Championship games. Mahomes and Travis Kelce lead another top-10 offense while the defense is the even better unit, making the Chiefs the betting favorites to win the AFC.

Kansas City with Reid and Mahomes is one of the most dominant organizations we've seen since Belichick's Patriots with Tom Brady. Unfortunately for Belichick, things have been a trainwreck since Brady left.

Highlighted by last year's mystifying decision to make failed defensive coordinator Matt Patricia the offensive coordinator, Belichick has failed New England's offense at every turn without Brady.

Sitting at 1-5 through six weeks with perhaps the league's worst quarterback play from Mac Jones, the Patriots rank 31st in points per game (12.0) and have just three wins in their last 13 games dating back to last season.

There are even murmors of Belichick being fired, a stark fall from grace for the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach. While Belichick is taking losses left and right, Reid is stockpiling wins.

Reid will continue to stack up accolades and accomplishments while Belichick's retirement feels closer than it ever has. Unless things change in a hurry, we'll remember Belichick falling on his face without Brady as Reid closes his coaching career atop the mountain.

Their coaching styles give Reid the edge too, as you'll see on the following page.

2. Offensive Innovation Will Overtake Defensive Genius

Reid is widely considered the best offensive mind of his generation, perfecting the West Coast offense while inspiring a wide variety of offensive styles in the modern game. He continually adds wrinkles to Kansas City's attack and this 2023 unit is no exception.

Belichick is the best defensive coach of all-time, though we're seeing the limitations of that approach when your offense can't keep up. The Patriots defense has been good since Brady left, but the offense so terrible that New England has no real chance of competing.

It's ironic that Reid's greatest mistake will prove Belichick's downfall. Reid struggled with the duties of both GM and coach with the Eagles, ultimately resulting in his firing. Brett Veach handles personnel in Kansas City, giving Reid the opportunity to focus on what he does best: coach.

On the other hand, Belichick's mystifying decisions leading the Patriots' front office hamstring him as a coach. He's been a dreadful offensive talent evaluator both in the draft and in free agency. As a result, New England has perhaps the NFL's worst skill-position players AND perhaps the worst quarterback.

In 20 years, Reid's innovations and impact on the game will be more obvious than Belichick's. It's easy to look around the league and see Reid's influence, from the explosive attacks of Mike McDaniel and Kyle Shanahan to his massive coaching tree including John Harbaugh, Doug Pederson, Ron Rivera, and Sean McDermott, just to name a few.

It's much more difficult to see Belichick's impact. Defensive schemes are hard for the average fan to understand. "Wow, that team scores a lot" is a more common thought than "look at how the defense is disguising coverages!"

Belichick's coaching tree is littered with failures too. His rude, unapologetic style only works if you're winning and so far, none of the coaches associated with Belichick win much. Right now, Belichick isn't winning either.

That impolite, borderline-disrespectful personality will ultimately prove Belichick's undoing in the eyes of many.

3. Reid's Endearing Personality vs. Belichick's Grumpy Demeanor

This point is the most important one. Never underestimate the magnitude of simply being a nice person.

People fondly remember those they like and find reasons to discredit folks they don't. In this case, Reid's memory will greatly outshine Belichick's.

Reid is beloved across the league and considered one of the best "player-coaches" in history while Belichick is infamous for being a curmudgeon.

The Chiefs always look like they're having fun and enjoy being around each other. New England's culture stands in direct opposition to that idea - perhaps that's why the Patriots struggle to attract marquee free agents now that Brady is gone.

When both coaches are retired and their accomplishments closer, Reid will get the benefit of the doubt in our memories because he comes off as a genuinely good guy. Some of Belichick's championships are stained by cheating scandals and whether right or wrong, people will remember that.

Today, right now, Belichick is ahead of Reid in the all-time rankings. The gap narrows by the day though, and Reid will move ahead when it's all said and done.

Don't take these moments for granted, Chiefs Kingdom. We're watching the greatest quarterback, the greatest tight end AND the greatest coach ever, it's just a matter of when people realize it.
