Rashee Rice officially turned himself in to Dallas police late Thursday night, continuing an uncertain saga regarding the six-vehicle crash that injured four people just under two weeks ago.

Rice ultimately faces eight total charges, two of which are felonies, but is reportedly cooperating with authorities and has answered every question.

Nonetheless, it's a big development in the situation and Rice's immediate future in the NFL is uncertain.

Chiefs News: Rashee Rice Mug Shot Released

It's unclear what, if any, punishment Rice will receive from the NFL or Chiefs. Both parties are investigating the situation though no official comments have been made.

Rice, who emerged as a rising star for the Chiefs in his rookie year after being drafted in the second round out of SMU, has hired prominent Texas attorney Royce West to defend him.

We don't know if Rice will enter into a plea deal or trial, but the related charges are serious enough to warrant concern. It's notable that he was not charged with street racing, though the two felonies are significant.

Rice has accepted responsibility for driving the Lamborghini and owned the Corvette, but the passengers in the two vehicles were not charged with any crimes. The driver of the Corvette faces the same charges that Rice received.

This is a developing story and we'll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
