This is one of the more loaded free agency classes we've seen in the NFL for a while, though two Chiefs stars help headline the list of players in Chris Jones and L'Jarius Sneed. Depending on what happens with those two and potential other contract restructuring, the Chiefs will likely have a bit of cap space to work with if they want to bolster the roster.

Kansas City has some obvious needs as we approach free agency. In the event the organization loses Jones or Sneed, or even both, there are several targets that can keep the party rolling.

Let's look at four offseason additions that would guarantee a third straight Super Bowl win.

4 Offseason Additions That Would Guarantee Another Chiefs Super Bowl

1. Mike Evans - WR

Evans has hit free agency after failing to come to an agreement with the Buccaneers. The two sides are still negotiating and it's possible he stays in Tampa Bay, but this gives the Chiefs an opportunity to secure the single most perfect available fit.

One of the most prolific receivers of this generation, Evans has ten consecutive seasons with 1,000 receiving yards and just led the NFL in receiving TDs (13) as well. He'd be the perfect scoring compliment for a team that struggled in the red zone this year.

Rashee Rice is a budding star and Travis Kelce still has plenty left in the tank, but the rest of the receiving options struggled mightily this year. Evans has playoff experience and his production would give Patrick Mahomes the best receiver he's had since Tyreek Hill.

Would Mahomes be willing to restructure his contract a bit to get Evans in Kansas City? We don't know what exactly Evans wants out of this process, though it'd be hard to pass up a chance to join the defending champions that show no signs of slowing down.

If Evans does come to town, you can go ahead and start dreaming of another Super Bowl win.

2. Christian Wilkins - DT

The former 13th overall pick in the 2019 draft enjoyed a career season for the Dolphins and saw first-hand how good this Chiefs team is in the AFC Wild Card round. Acquiring Wilkins at his likely price tag wouldn't make a ton of sense if Chris Jones stays, but he'd be a logical replacement to fill Jones' spot if he goes elsewhere.

He's considered one of the best run defenders in the NFL, an area the Chiefs' defense currently struggles in, and just set career-high marks in a number of pass-rushing statistics, including pressure rate, sacks, quarterback hits and pressures.

There are fair questions about how effective players like George Karlaftis and Charles Omenihu can be without Jones commanding so much attention. Signing a guy like Wilkins could alleviate that potential problem.

No one can completely fill Jones' role. He's the best defensive player of this era of Chiefs football for a reason. That being said, a player with Wilkins' rare blend of athleticism, speed and power would certainly help.

3. Tee Higgins - WR

Orlando Brown Jr. left the Chiefs for the Bengals last offseason. What if Ja'Marr Chase's running mate pulls the opposite move this time around?

Similar to Evans, Higgins would likely require a large contract and concessions from other Chiefs players, but he's a dynamic talent that could give the offense the down-field threat it's been lacking since the Tyreek Hill trade.

While he suffered through injuries this year, he had two consecutive 1,000-yard seasons prior to 2023 with a career yards per catch mark of 14.3. Chiefs fans know how good he can be too, as he combined for nearly 200 receiving yards in the two AFC Championship games against the Bengals.

Keeping Higgins is a priority for Cincinnati and I expect the organization to do everything it can to find a deal that works for both parties. However, it wouldn't be overly surprising if his contract demands turn out to be too rich for the Bengals' liking considering the Ja'Marr Chase contract they'll soon have to sign.

Pairing Higgins with Rashee Rice would give Kansas City a pair of young, dominant receivers to grow with alongside Patrick Mahomes. Not to mention how sweet it'd be to rob the Bengals of one of their homegrown stars.

4. Brian Burns - EDGE

Poor Burns has been toiling away in mediocrity with the Carolina Panthers and dangled in trade talks for multiple years now, but he still hasn't been able to escape.

Now? He can. What better team to join than the two-time reigning Super Bowl champions? If the Chiefs want to make a strength even stronger, getting a pass rusher of Burns' ability would give Kansas City the most fearsome defensive line in the entire league.

This is a true premier player, routinely dominating offensive lines despite a lack of production around him. He's had at least 7.5 sacks every year of his career, highlighted by the 12.5 he put up in 2022.

Reports are that Burns wants north of $30 million annually, which is Chris Jones money, so he'd have to accept a bit less to join the Chiefs.

That's the beauty of all of this success, though. Players should be willing to take discounts to chase a Super Bowl ring with Mahomes, Andy Reid and the rest of the stars with guaranteed organizational stability. We'll see what comes of the next couple of months, but any of these additions would be a slam-dunk win for Kansas City.
