It's a great day to be a Chiefs fan, with Kansas City enjoying a bye week with a 7-2 record as king of the AFC.
While some teams haven't been as formidable as expected, like the Bills, others are rising to the challenge and could pose a threat to the Chiefs in the playoffs.
Let's discuss the three most dangerous teams for the Chiefs' pursuit to win the AFC and reach the Super Bowl for the third time in the last four seasons. We'll go in descending order, with the most threatening team coming on the final page.
3 Biggest AFC Competitors to Chiefs Reaching Super Bowl
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jags are a team I've been eyeing since the preseason to take a leap in the conference. Kansas City looked dominant in a 17-9 win over Jacksonville in Week 2, but the Jaguars are finding their stride in Doug Pederson's second season as head coach.
They sit at 6-2 with a two-game lead in the AFC South, having won and covered the spread in five straight games following back-to-back losses to the Chiefs and Texans. Jacksonville won four of those contests by at least a TD, while the closest win being an impressive five-point victory over the Buffalo in London.

Trevor Lawrence looks more comfortable than he did early in the year, especially throwing to Christian Kirk, while the improving defense rates among the league's best over the last month.
In the last three weeks, the Jaguars are allowed just 4.5 yards per play, a mark that would rank third in the NFL over the course of the season.
Jacksonville will have to prove it can beat Kansas City before I'm overly worried, but the Jags are quickly rising up the list of AFC contenders.
2. Cincinnati Bengals
I was hoping we wouldn't have to worry about Cincy after Joe Burrow's injury led to a 1-3 start, but here come those Bengals.
Spurred by Burrow's recovering calf, the Bengals have four straight wins, covering the spread in each victory. They've beaten the Bills and 49ers in consecutive weeks in impressive fashion, clearly establishing Cincinnati as a bonafide Super Bowl contender once again.

That’s it, that’s the whole list. The AFC north is legit. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. pic.twitter.com/3scgDAawLO
We know the Bengals can hang with the Chiefs in a pivotal game, something we can't be certain about with the Jaguars.
Joe Burrow has 10 passing TDs to just two interceptions over Cincinnati's four-game winning streak. While Ja'Marr Chase is dealing with back soreness, he's still one of the NFL's most dangerous receivers with 64 catches for 697 yards and 4 TDs this year.
Every week, it seems more likely we're on an inevitable collision course for a third consecutive AFC Championship matchup between the Chiefs and Bengals.
All that said, you may be surprised to find out that there's a different AFC North team I have leading these rankings.
1. Baltimore Ravens
This version of the Ravens is as legitimate a threat to the Chiefs' AFC supremacy as we've seen in several years.
Baltimore was another team I identified in the preseason as a potential challenger and the team exceeded every expectation to this point.

Lamar Jackson looks like the best version of him we've seen, thanks in large part to the new offense installed by first-year offensive coordinator Todd Monken.
He's completing 71.5% of his passes with 14 total TDs and just five turnovers. Jackson is on pace for over 3,600 passing yards, a mark that would shatter his previous career-best of 3,127 (2019) while remaining the deadliest dual-threat QB in the sport.
Not only do the Ravens have a great offense, but their defense leads the league in opponent yards per play (4.1) and opponent points per game (13.8). They're the only team other than the Chiefs to rank in both the top five in yards per play AND opponent yards per play.
Scoring over 30 points in each of their last three games, the Ravens are a legitimate force. As it stands, Baltimore is the team with the best chance to dethrone our Kansas City Chiefs.
