KC CHIEFS POSITION BATTLES – NUMBER ONE: CORNERBACK
Well, at least there should one exciting position battle for Kansas City Chiefs fans to look forward to come training camp time. The cornerback position is one of the more exciting position groups to watch in general, but this year in particular because there will be a lot of new talent to watch for.

The Chiefs are returning two starting corners from last year’s Super Bowl winning roster and then second-year player Rashad Fenton (who only played 15 percent of the defensive snaps in 2019) and that’s it. That leaves around three roster spots that will be filled by players that are new to Kansas City.
It is likely that two of those roster spots will go to newly drafted rookies and with Bashaud Breeland likely starting off the season on suspension, a fourth (early-season) roster spot could be up for grabs, which could very likely go to an UDFA. Obviously L’Jarius Sneed and BoPete Keyes – both of whom were drafted by KC this year – are in the mix, but for the UDFAs, Lavert Hill could be an intriguing player to keep an eye on.
There’s a lot to watch for in this group this offseason, plus its always fun to watch Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins do their thing and compete against these guys.

Overall there will be a lot of healthy competition in training camp this year. It may or may not be the most exciting positions to watch duke it out, but competition nonetheless.
Here’s to hoping things return to normal so that Chiefs fans can pack training camp and watch these position battles play out and that we can watch our Kansas City Chiefs run it back in 2020.
