NUMBER TWO: JAVARIS DAVIS (CB)

Javaris Davis. CB. Auburn. 2. player. 842. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Javaris Davis doesn’t have the typical size that Spagnuolo likes for his cornerbacks to have, but he is an incredible athlete who had a solid college career facing good competition in the SEC. With the likely impending early season suspension of Bashaud Breeland, that leaves at least a couple of games worth of active roster experience up for grabs.

There are going to be roughly six corners on the active roster to open the season. Ward and Rashad Fenton are locks and the two drafted rookies, L’Jarius Sneed and BoPete Keyes, have to be pretty safe as well. Next, Antonio Hamilton would appear to be next in line if anything due to his special teams play.

That leaves Breeland’s early-season vacated spot up for grabs for the likes of Alex Brown and the new UDFAs. Davis, as the best cornerback available post-draft, has the best chance of the UDFAs to take that spot.
