Scenario 4: The New World Order, Part II

As much as I’d like to name this second conference after Lamar Hunt, I won’t for two reasons. The first is that the Kansas City Chiefs are already in the last conference. The second is because there is already a trophy named after Hunt, and that trophy will be continue to be named after him even after our bizzaro-world reconfiguration of the NFL.

Instead, I’ll go with another member of the Foolish Club, as the original AFL owners were known. In the end, this conference will be named after Barron Hilton, despite the team he once owned being completely unrecognizable in tomorrow’s NFL.

Hilton Conference, North Division

  • Buffalo Bills
  • London Black Knights (née Chargers)
  • New England Patriots
  • New York Jets

The AFC East mostly sticks together and that New England-London rivalry gets cemented. Not sure what to re-name the Chargers, but London Chargers sounds funny. They’d have to switch it up.

Hilton Conference, Capital Division

  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Carolina Panthers
  • New York Giants
  • Washington Redskins

How about that Baltimore-Washington rivalry? That would be a steal for this division. Plus it gets to keep the New York-Washington rivalry, too. The Panthers are rather anonymous, and that won’t change in the coming years.

Hilton Conference, West Division

  • Dallas Cowboys
  • Houston Texans
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • San Francisco 49ers

This is a fun division. I like the Cowboys-Rams-49ers all being grouped together, and the Texans will remain a fun team to watch as long as Watson is under center.

Hilton Conference, Southeast Division

  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Miami Dolphins
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers

See what I did there? Instead of Northeast, like in the Rooney Conference, it’s Southeast. Anyway, this puts the three Florida-based teams against one another and throws in the Falcons, who are in bordering Georgia. The Bucs-Falcons is the biggest rivalry, so this division definitely has room to grow.
