Mizzou Football: Ranking every SEC quarterback on 2019 schedule
NUMBER 5 – MATT CORRAL (OLE MISS)
Mizzou vs Ole Miss – October 12th
Ole Miss is a tough team to figure out this year, but if Matt Corral lives up to what made him one of the highest recruited players a few years ago, the Rebels could be a sneaky team.
Corral didn’t see the field much last year, appearing in just four games while attempting 22 passes. When he was on the field, however, he looked pretty good, throwing for 239 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception during that time.
Where Corral shone the most as a freshman was running with the football, tallying 83 yards and two touchdowns with his legs. Even though Ole Miss might not be the most competitive team in 2019, Corral gives them hope as long as he’s their quarterback.
NUMBER 4 – JAKE BENTLEY (SOUTH CAROLINA)
Mizzou vs South Carolina – September 21st
Jake Bentley has been at South Carolina since 2016 and will head into his senior year at the helm. While he’s lost a lot of big name receivers this offseason, Bentley will still put up decent numbers for the Gamecocks.
Bentley’s numbers have improved every year and 2018 saw him throw for 3,171 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. While not much of a runner, Bentley was able to score two rushing touchdowns during his junior season and had a whopping SIX rushing touchdowns in 2017.
Bentley didn’t play in the game against Missouri last year, but the Gamecocks have had MU’s number in recent history. With this game taking place in the only Columbia that matters (the one in Missouri), the Tigers have the upper hand, but can Bentley continue to be the thorn in Mizzou’s side?
