GOOD: CHIEFS STILL THE ONE-SEED

Let’s close this out with some good, and that’s the most important thing for this team right now: Sitting in that top spot in the AFC.

Fortunately for the Chiefs, Los Angeles lost to the Ravens on Saturday, meaning all Kansas City has to do moving forward is beat the Raiders next week. If they do that, they’ll win the AFC West and get home field advantage throughout the postseason.

Had the Chargers lost over the weekend, we’d be singing a different tune right now. The Chiefs would no longer control their own destiny and would be playing over Wild Card weekend.

While the Raiders aren’t a good team, the Chiefs now will have to play their starters in week 17, which is never ideal. The Raiders took KC down to the wire a few weeks ago, but there’s a lot more on the line next week for the Chiefs than there is for the Raiders.

So yeah, holding onto the one-seed, despite losing back to back games is huge for the Kansas City Chiefs. If they win in week 17, the AFC playoffs will go through Arrowhead Stadium.
