SIT ‘EM – QB

Ryan Fitzpatrick. 1. player. 48. . Quarterback. Buccaneers

What? Bench Ryan Fitzpatrick? After he threw for 1,000 yards against the New Orleans Saints? Yes, you read right. Bench him.

For one, Fitzpatrick isn’t even the starter in Tampa Bay. Jameis Winston will probably be taking back over in a few weeks once his suspension is up and I’m sure Bucs fans are dreading that day.

Also, we’ve seen these types of games from Fitzpatrick before. He’s a VERY boom or bust player with the possibility to throw for five or more touchdowns or throw for five or more interceptions. He can flip the switch that quickly, so don’t take one sensational performance from Fitzpatrick as he’s a legitimate starter.

The Buccaneers might be better off with Fitzpatrick over Winston, but there’s a reason why Fitzpatrick has been with half of the teams in the league. He’s a backup quarterback with the potential to have explosive games, but also has the ability to throw six interceptions in a game.

Don’t count on him to be a dependable starting option moving forward, especially with the Eagles next on the schedule for Tampa Bay. That’s a much tougher defense than New Orleans, who have a tendency to be trash defensively.
