FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS COLORADO

NUMBER 4 – YOUNG KICKER MAKING HIS DEBUT

The kicking game might not seem noteworthy, but missed field goals can be the difference between winning and losing. Considering the Cornhuskers have a true freshman kicker at the helm, field goals aren’t going to be as certain as they might have been under Drew Brown and that’s worrisome, especially in close games.

Barrett Pickering won the job for Nebraska and having a true freshman in those big situations is enough to make any fan anxious. Pickering won the job fair and square, but it won’t be shocking if he has a few missed attempts on Saturday.

Hopefully Nebraska doesn’t get put in a situation where they’re forced to kick a late game-deciding field goal. Pickering has a lot of pressure riding on him this year, so all eyes will be on him to see how he does with field goals and extra points.
