FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS COLORADO

NUMBER 5 – CAN THE HUSKERS KEEP UP?

Colorado put up 45 points last week. Yes, it was against Colorado State, but the Buffs were on cruise control in their season opener.

My biggest worry with the Huskers heading into this game is that they didn’t get a chance to work out the kinks in week one. Colorado, despite not having a ton of kinks versus a Mountain West team, got the chance to work together and figure out what wasn’t working for them.

Going back to my worry, what if Colorado comes out firing on all cylinders and Nebraska falls behind 14-0 before any of us can even blink? Adrian Martinez is going to be playing in his first game and there are a lot of new faces on this year’s team. This isn’t a crazy scenario.

It might take a few quarters for Nebraska to get things figured out, both offensively and defensively, and by that point, the game might be out of reach. Let’s hope not.
