FANTASY FOOTBALL ROOKIES TO TARGET: NUMBER 14 – COURTLAND SUTTON

The Denver Broncos have had Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders as their two main receivers for years now, but it was wise of them to add a third target in Courtland Sutton. Sutton should be a nice weapon for Case Keenum and is certainly a rookie who could make some noise in both real life and in fantasy football.

Sutton spent four years at SMU and had electric junior and senior seasons for the Mustangs. Both of those years saw him rack up over 1,000 yards receiving (he had over 1,200 in 2016) and double digit touchdowns as well.

The expectations aren’t high for Denver this year, but Keenum is a step up from Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch. He’ll be able to get the ball to Sutton and the newly acquired receiver could become the Broncos’ newest red zone target.

Sutton doesn’t have the third receiver job won yet, but he’ll be the favorite to earn it considering how high he was drafted. His production this season will basically depend on how Keenum transitions with his new team.

Take a late round flier on Courtland Sutton if you’re looking for bench depth later in the draft.
