Fantasy Football: Top 15 Running Backs to Target in 2018
Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman
The Atlanta Falcons offense took a major step backward last season after losing offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in the offseason. Atlanta’s offense should be more productive this season with the second season under Steve Sarkisian.
Devonta Freeman’s 2017 season was hurt by a concussion and knee injuries last season but looks to get back to form in 2018. While injury concerns will play a part in the upcoming season for Freeman, he will remain the number one threat coming out of the backfield for the Falcons.
In the last three seasons, Freeman has scored 35 touchdowns on the ground and through the air. He had a career-high of 8.8 yards per catch last season even without Shanahan calling the plays which shows that he will be a consistent weapon in the passing game going forward.
Even while missing a couple of games in 2017, Freeman still led fellow Falcons running back Tevin Coleman in rushing attempts and targets in the red zone. If he can stay healthy, Freeman is one of the more consistent running backs to put up big numbers on a weekly basis.
