Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard

One running back that I don’t think has gotten the respect he deserves the last two seasons is Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard. In the past two seasons since being drafted by the Bears, Howard has put together 2,435 yards on the ground and accompanied those yards with 15 touchdowns.

While Howard took a bit of a step back from his breakout rookie season in 2017, he still managed 1,122 yards and nine touchdowns. Obviously, a running back that you will want on your roster. He’s a power runner that will bolster his fantasy stats with goalline touchdowns.

The downside to Howard when it comes to fantasy football is his inconsistency and lack of progress in the passing game. It seemed that Howard would go off one week and then be a non-factor the following. The inconsistency was a large part of why I ranked him at number 11 in this countdown.

Another thing to keep an eye on this season is if his receiving abilities look better in the preseason. Chicago grabbed former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy as their head coach this offseason. Nagy is big on utilizing his running backs in the passing game as we saw in Kansas City last year which means that Howard could be splitting more snaps with Tarik Cohen going forward.
