Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy

There are a significant amount of factors that go into choosing whether or not to draft LeSean McCoy in your 2018 draft. McCoy was involved in an alleged assault case with his ex-girlfriend this offseason, and a pending suspension is hanging over him. The NFL could decide to suspend McCoy for many games depending on the results of the investigation.

With that being said, I think that it would not be a top 15 list if we were not including the Bills running back after he’s been one of the most consistent backs in the league. Despite turning 30, his worst season came in 2017 when he ran for four yards per carry. That says a lot that his worst season he still broke the four yards per carry mark.

In an offense without many weapons, McCoy will remain the center point in the Buffalo offense. Seeing as the team got rid of their starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor and are hoping that a rookie quarterback or former Cincinnati Bengals backup quarterback A.J. McCarron will take on the offense, the running game will be the biggest factor for this offense.

Unfortunately for McCoy, the offensive line took some major blows this offseason. Losing some of their best players up front could cause some issues for not only the young quarterbacks that Buffalo is expecting to be ready right away but the running game. McCoy has been phenomenal at making something out of nothing, and I have no reason to believe that will change this year which is why I’m still considering him a top 15 back.
