#12 Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton

Over the last three seasons, Trey Burton has been masked by the fantastic depth the Philadelphia Eagles have at tight end. Last year, Burton moved up to be the backup to Zach Ertz and proved himself worthy of a massive contract from the Chicago Bears.

Ertz missed time for the Eagles giving Burton that opportunity to prove that he is a starting worthy player. Signing with the Bears should increase his production over even his starting time with the Eagles. It’s likely he will be the primary weapon for second-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Keep in mind that former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. Learning under Andy Reid, Nagy got some time calling plays last season for the Chiefs, and we all know how much the Chiefs like to utilize their tight ends in the passing game.

Chicago also has another group of unproven or questionable talent in the wide receiver room. Bringing in players like Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel might seem exciting, but how they will mix in with the new system and team is still a question mark. Expect Burton to be the top target for Trubisky as young quarterbacks tend to favor their tight end as a security blanket.
