The Wildcats have a tough matchup against the Bulldogs of Miss. State

It’s a rare occasion that Bill Snyder schedules such a tough opponent like Mississippi State. It’s great for everybody when he does. Kansas State stands to benefit greatly by challenging an SEC school early in the season. From revenue to a possible climb in the polls.

As long as both teams are undefeated after the first week, Kansas State can climb into the top 25 with a win in Manhattan.

The Bulldogs finished last season 9-4. Nick Fitzgerald will be throwing the ball once again as he returns for his senior year. The dual-threat quarterback will be an early test for a defense that will be looking to prove itself.

Aeris Williams returns for his senior year as well. The running back gained over 1,000 yards on the ground in 2017.

The defense is the strength of the Bulldogs, especially the defensive line. Jeffery Simmons and Montez Sweat are two of the best defensive linemen in college football.

The Wildcats defense will have to contain the duo of Fitzgerald and Williams, which should be obtainable since they practice against a couple of dual-threat quarterbacks in Skylar Thompson and Alex Delton. The running back is pretty good as well in Alex Barnes.

Expect a low scoring game in which neither team reaches the 20 point mark. If Kansas State wins they won’t look good doing it. The Bulldogs are predicted to start the season around No.15 according to most outlets.
