POTENTIAL LANDING SPOTS FOR LORENZO CAIN – NEW YORK METS

So the last team mentioned beat the Kansas City Royals in the 2014 World Series and now we’re on the team who the Royals beat in the 2015 World Series. Both teams liked what they saw from Cain during his tenure as a Royal and it makes sense that the Mets want in on him.

As noted by Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors, the Mets already have a decent option in center field in Juan Lagares. Like the Blue Jays, however, perhaps having a strong defense in the outfield is what the Mets are going for and Cain would make that a big possibility.

"The Mets would appear to be more set with Yoenis Cespedes and Michael Conforto both in the mix alongside Lagares, but Conforto’s status is something of a question mark following shoulder surgery."

Conforto has been banged up a lot during his early years in the majors, but when he does play, he’s fantastic. Still… Should the Mets sign Cain just in case Conforto isn’t ready to go after his surgery?

This is a very realistic possibility for Lorenzo Cain and he’d be a part of a team that’s not really sure what they are at the moment. A lot of money to shell out to a guy who doesn’t necessarily have a place on your roster.
