POTENTIAL LANDING SPOTS FOR LORENZO CAIN – TEXAS RANGERS

One of the more talked about destinations for Cain this offseason has been with the Texas Rangers, who recently inked another former Royal in Mike Minor. With Carlos Gomez hitting free agency, the Rangers have a need in center field and could probably afford Cain’s services.

It is a little interesting to see Texas still in the hunt for Cain, as they have enough decent outfielders.

Andrew Webb of Nolan Writin’ wrote about if Cain could be the center fielder the Rangers are in search of. Webb wrote,

"If Cain ends up with Texas then the team can move Nomar Mazara to right field, and put DeShields in left, and Cain in center. Where the outfielders play is not the biggest concern right now, but does this team really need Cain?"

It is a little interesting to see Texas still in the hunt for Cain, as they have enough decent outfielders. They don’t really need Lorenzo Cain, but he’d make their outfield much better and we’ve seen just how much good defense in the outfield can help a team down the road. It literally can win games for teams.

Considering the Rangers have Delino DeShields who can play center field, I’m not sure the Rangers will legitimately be in on Cain, but it is a team I have seen linked to him frequently. They’re worth mentioning for sure.
