Fantasy Football 2017: Thursday Night Football Start Em, Sit Em Week 12
SIT ‘EM
Ameer Abdullah has been disappointing this season and is someone I’d avoid starting on Thanksgiving. He only had 22 yards rushing off of 11 carries last week, which was a game he should have done well in.
Abdullah splits carries with Theo Riddick anyway, which hurts his value for sure, but I don’t like his chances against a fantastic Vikings defense. That Minnesota D held Rams running back Todd Gurley (one of the best in the entire league at his position) to just 37 yards and a touchdown off 15 carries.
With Abdullah struggling as it is and the Vikings run defense being a terror, this is not a good match-up for the former Cornhusker running back. He likely won’t get many yards and he’ll be splitting carries with Riddick.
Abdullah’s best game this season did come against the Vikings in week four, however, so if you’re looking for reasons TO start him… There you go. He had 94 yards and a touchdown off of 20 carries. I wouldn’t expect repeated success here though.
