C-. This seemed like a reach to me… especially trading up to get him.. WR. Michigan. JEHU CHESSON

A few years ago I would have been elated at any wide receiver selection in the NFL Draft, but this year it was kind of a “meh” position for me. Yes, Jeremy Maclin faltered last year and Chris Conley hasn’t been what he was drafted to be, but the Chiefs are still okay at the position. Tyreek Hill offers explosiveness and Travis Kelce is one of the best tight ends in the league.

With all of that said, I didn’t HATE this pick. Jehu Chesson had a tremendous 2015 season at Michigan, where he hauled in 50 catches and had nine touchdowns on the year. After that, however, he dropped off significantly.

I really don’t feel like the Chiefs needed to trade up to nab Chesson, as he wasn’t one of the bigger names in the draft, but there was obviously something they really liked about the kid. If the team likes a player, go get him.

Hopefully I’m wrong and Chesson ends up being more than an average player, but right now, this pick just stands out as a “Blah” pick.
