Alcides Escobar

Alcides Escobar may well wind up in the lead-off spot again for the Royals this year as they try to rekindle that ‘Esky Magic’ of old, but even if he doesn’t he’s got plenty of magic left on the defensive side of the ball.

‘El Mago’, or ‘The Magician’, was earned by his ability to ‘wow’ the fans from his position in the field, not in the batter’s box.

Because of his magical plays, his walk-up music should be ’24K Magic’ by Bruno Mars.

Alcides Escobar always finds a way to earn a tip of the cap from his teammates. He makes difficult plays look easy and often times gets to balls that no one expects. ‘Esky Magic’ is alive and well, just maybe not in the same vein as it was in 2014-2015.
