Alex Gordon

It’s really remarkable how someone can go from so loved and lauded a player to being in the doghouse with so many. Alex Gordon has fallen victim to the all to common gripe of ‘What have you done for me lately?’

Alex Gordon was rewarded with a team-record contract following the 2015 season in which Alex Gordon played the role of game one World Series’ hero.

That moment, is one of the greatest moments in KC Royals’ history and it involved a guy that has been the Royals during some very lean times.

Now, there is no denying, Alex Gordon had a very bad year in 2016. It was actually one of the worst years of his career, but he’s got plenty of time to redeem himself.

Alex Gordon’s proposed walk-up song for the year is ‘Human’ by Rag’n’Bone Man.

The point in this song selection is a little preachy, but it is important to remember that he is just human. No matter how much we want him to earn every nickel of that contract, he, like all of us, is flawed but capable of great things.

The Royals are going to need Alex Gordon’s contract to pay off on the field this year if they hope to make a return to the postseason. That’s a lot of pressure, but his performed in high-pressure situations before.
