Week 4 – Chiefs at Steelers

Chiefs lost 43-14 (My prediction: 27-7, Steelers)

Ooh boy. This was a tough game from start to finish. I say from the start because the Chiefs literally were down 21-0 just minutes into the game. It was an abysmal performance, but likely gave them the encouragement to play better. They did just that down the stretch, winning ten of their final 12 games.

With two turnovers on two of their first three possessions, the Chiefs offense never gave their defense a shot in this one. It’s hard to defend one of the best offenses in football when they’re consistently getting the ball handed to them in the red zone.

Should the Steelers be the Chiefs’ foe in the divisional round, it won’t be a repeat of this game.

"This is just the type of game that the Chiefs always manage to lose."

I knew this would be a tough game for the Chiefs to win, but I went with the Steelers having their number storyline. Kansas City just isn’t successful against Big Ben and the black and yellow, but they’ll likely get another crack at them in the playoffs. That could be fun.

It’s also funny that I said Le’Veon Bell wouldn’t play in this game and that would help the Chiefs. I wish that had stuck, as Bell’s suspension had been reduced to three games. This was his first game back and he wasn’t messing around, with 144 rushing yards on the day. He meant business, man.

Should the Steelers be the Chiefs’ foe in the divisional round, it won’t be a repeat of this game. The Chiefs learned a lot in this blowout loss and there’s no way they’ll falter like that again to Pittsburgh.

Chiefs: 2-2 (Leigh: 4-0)
