Chiefs Top Raider Week Moments No. 8: James Hasty With The Pick Six
September 17, 1995
There have been a number of fantastic finishes when the Kansas City Chiefs play the Raiders. However, Chiefs fans are especially appreciative of those that come at the hands of the defense. For whatever reason, Chiefs football is only truly successful when the defense is working right. That is as true now as it was in the 60s and the 90s…especially that time when James Hasty stole a Jeff Hostetler pass and went 64 yards for the game winner.
James Hasty was a new addition to a vaunted Chiefs defense that featured stars at every level. Hasty immediately became a fan favorite with Chiefs Kingdom because his two biggest games would come against the Oakland Raiders that year.
The Chiefs would go on to a 13-3 record, sweeping the Raiders, before an epic playoff failure. However, Chiefs fans fondly remember this defense and players like James Hasty who became permanent names in Chiefs lore.
