Ugly: Phillip Gaines and Marcus Peters getting hurt

Phillip Gaines left the game early on in the first half and that’s a lot of why D.J. White saw extended playing time.

Gaines appeared to have hurt his knee and did not re-enter the game after departing.

Obviously this would be a huge blow to the Chiefs if Gaines couldn’t play next week against the Saints, but to make matters worse… Marcus Peters also got hurt in this game.

Peters appeared to have sustained a concussion at some point, but the good news is that the former first-rounder cleared concussion protocol.

It would be HORRIBLE if Gaines and Peters both had to miss the Saints game. Could you imagine Drew Brees‘ passing stats should the Chiefs’ top two cornerbacks be out next weekend? My fantasy team would be rocking, that’s for sure.

We’ll keep you updated on this throughout the week, but for now, Peters looks to be good to go.
