Fantasy Football Running Backs: #2 Adrian Peterson – Minnesota Vikings
Adrian Peterson remains one of the most dominant Fantasy Football players in the NFL. Someone is going to make Peterson their first round pick and team focus. It’s a solid move every year. Peterson probably won’t be the top overall pick this year as draft strategies evolve, but he’s still going in the first round.
Still The Focus: Plain and simple, the Vikings offense flows through Adrian Peterson. If he can’t go, they can’t go. Peterson will get plenty of work this season, and that will result in points for his fantasy owners. He should be a reliable 10+ points every week for you.
Wear And Tear: Adrian Peterson is starting to get to the point where you have to be concerned about wear and tear over the course of his career. He is over the dreaded “30 years old mark” that tends to represent the downturn on a running back’s career. He also has a lot of carries, and hits, over the course of his career. It has to catch up to him sooner or later.
Draft Value – 1st Round: Adrian Peterson is going in the first round in almost every fantasy draft out there. His value is too great for everyone to pass up. So unless you have a draft strategy that doesn’t include Peterson, then he should be your pick if he’s on the board. He’s a solid center piece for your team.
