San Diego Chargers

It might seem like a long time ago, but the Chargers used to rule the AFC West in the late 00’s. Since then, it’s belonged to the Broncos, but make no mistake that the Bolts are always a contender in the division.

The problem with San Diego, and the reason why they likely won’t be in contention this season, is that their offensive line and defense have not been good lately.

For one, they have Philip Rivers as their quarterback, which makes them as dangerous as any team in the league. As much as Chiefs fans can’t stand Rivers and his temper tantrums, he’s a good quarterback, and probably the best in the AFC West.

The Chargers have an electric offense and showed that they could play with the big boys last season.

The problem with San Diego, and the reason why they likely won’t be in contention this season, is that their offensive line and defense have not been good lately. Their offensive line was beat up all last season, and the defense couldn’t stop a thing.

While the Chargers added Joey Bosa in the first round of the draft, he’s not going to make all the difference in San Diego.

With the way the rest of the division has improved and the way the Chargers have pretty much stayed put with having a mediocre defense, expect them to hang out in the cellar again in 2016.
