KC Chiefs Best Fourth Round Picks of All-Time | Number 10: Mark Robinson

Before being drafted by the KC Chiefs in the 1984 NFL Draft, Mark Robinson was a member of Penn State’s 1982 National Championship team.

That season under the now infamous Joe Paterno, Robinson was named a 1982 consensus All-American. Robinson spent his first four seasons with the KC Chiefs where he started eight games despite playing in a total of 48.

In his final season with the KC Chiefs in 1987, Robinson received most of his Kansas City starts that year. In those four starts, Robinson still managed to record two interceptions that season before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the next year in 1988.

That year, Robinson did not play quite so efficiently as the year prior, recording two interceptions in nine starts with the Bucs. Surprisingly though, Robinson’s best seasons would be the next two years in what would also be his final two years in the NFL.

From 1989-1990, in 31 starts, he recorded 10 interceptions, double his career total of five in seasons prior. After spending three seasons with the Bucs, Robinson retired in 1990 with a total of 12 interceptions with the Bucs and 15 over the course of his NFL career.

After his NFL career, Robinson pursued a career in the media. He is currently a broadcaster for South Florida Bulls football games, and also co-hosts the Bucs talk show ‘Xtra Point’.
