Obviously, we all want to believe that the Kansas City Royals are going to win the World Series again in 2016, but it’s incredibly difficult to make it back to the biggest stage in baseball three years in a row.

I’m a realistic person when it comes to my sports teams and I really don’t see the Royals making it to the World Series again this year. Of course I hope that I am wrong, but I see this being a year in which the Astros make it to and ultimately win the entire thing. The Astros have the pitchers and the batters to go the distance and that’s huge in baseball.

The Mets are another team that could go quite far, as they’ll have the motivation this year after losing the World Series last season. The scariest thing that New York provides is their starting rotation, which the Royals got to face during the World Series in 2015.

Two of the other five teams I listed made it to the championship series last season in Toronto and Chicago. Toronto has a lot of hard hitters, but not the best rotation. Chicago possesses both hard hitters and has a decent rotation, but they haven’t been to the World Series since 1945 and haven’t won it all since 1908.

The other team I predict to be a threat to the Royals winning their second straight title is the San Francisco Giants solely for the fact that they’re an even-year team. The Giants have good pitchers and have studs like Hunter Pence and Buster Posey in their lineup, which could propel them to the top of the National League West in 2016.
