Teams To Watch Out For In 2016 – Number 1: Houston Astros

The Houston Astros were six outs away from advancing to the ALCS last season. Royals magic prevented that from happening, but the Astros are still a scary team in the MLB and are my pick to win the World Series this season.

More from Kansas City Royals

The Astros have talent at the plate with guys like Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve, Colby Rasmus, and George Springer, but they also have depth in their rotation. Ace Dallas Keuchel returns to the team as do Collin McHugh and Lance McCullers, both of whom had good seasons last year.

Houston is high on my list due to the fact that they have scary guys at both the plate and on the mound, which showed during the playoffs. This was a team that looked to have the momentum of the 2014 Royals, but dipped off after that seventh inning of Game 4 of the ALDS.

The Astros’ biggest competitor in the AL West is probably the Texas Rangers, who won the division last year, but I think this season Houston wins the West and goes on to their first World Series since 2005.
