None of these things probably seriously crossed anyone’s mind. Maybe.

No one is actually thinking any of these things, but it’s kind of fun to react to this things as if the Royals were still playing a bad brand of baseball. If anyone was jumping to these wild conclusions so early, it’s not without at least a little precedent.

More from KC Kingdom

For years, Royals fans have always been cautiously optimistic in regards to this team. No matter what promises were made in the off-season, nothing ever seemed to change.

Here’s the bottom line: The Royals are a good baseball team.

It’s still kind of hard to digest that notion even with all of the winning that has taken place. Even with the shiny new trophy and all the World Series celebrations, it’s just hard to fathom the Royals being a good baseball team.

The fact that they’re constantly underrated makes it even more fun to watch. Everyone can appreciate an underdog, and when the underdog is winning it makes it that much sweeter.

Today, the Royals will face off against the Rangers again. Perhaps former teammate and clubhouse leader, Jeremy Guthrie will get a few innings in. If anyone can jump start those Royals’ bats, it might be ‘J-Guts’. Even when he’s not in a Royals’ jersey, he may still help out the team (Relax. This is a poor attempt at humor. Nothing but respect for Jeremy Guthrie).
