Kansas City Chiefs: A Look Back At The 2015 Season
After a horrific Thursday Night Football loss, the Chiefs went on to lose their next four games, some in hilarious fashion.
Weeks 3 and 4 saw the Kansas City Chiefs getting blown out against playoff caliber teams in the Packers and Bengals. The game against Cincinnati was even more embarrassing due to the Chiefs having to settle for seven field goals rather than touchdowns.
At that point in time, it was looking all too likely like the Chiefs might move on from John Dorsey, Andy Reid, and Alex Smith, and might draft a quarterback in the first round of the draft.
Week 5 was when the Chiefs sunk the lowest though. They were hosting the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead and despite being large favorites to win the game, they allowed the Bears to win in the last two minutes of the game. Oh, and did I mention that they lost Jamaal Charles for the year with a torn ACL? Yeah, it was a wonderful day (sarcasm).
The following week, the Chiefs didn’t score until the fourth quarter against the Vikings and lost their fifth straight game, which dropped them to 1-5. It was after that loss to the Vikings that fans put a bow on this season and figured the Chiefs would be a top five pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
At that point in time, it was looking all too likely like the Chiefs might move on from John Dorsey, Andy Reid, and Alex Smith, and might draft a quarterback in the first round of the draft.
Fortunately, the Chiefs organization stuck to their guns and things turned around for the team.
