KC Royals: Ranking the 2015 Playoff Comebacks
By Scott Dillon
All of the Royals’ comebacks were memorable. 2015 will fondly be remembered by fans for years to come.
Picking the final two rankings was very difficult. The only thing that gave the world series clincher the edge was the fact that it brought a trophy back to Kansas City.

The Royals had become an inspiration. To the city, it meant more than just a win. It completely washed away all of the bad feelings that Kansas City sports fans had held for so many years. Year after year, fans had become accustomed to saying “There’s always next season.”, even though it was uttered by early may.
Fans showed up in droves to show the Royals how much it actually meant to them. Schools and offices shut down and interstate ditches turned into parking lots so people could have a chance to share in the celebration.
Everyone in the lineup contributed at some point or another in these comebacks and the bullpen was dominant throughout. The sense of teamwork that was displayed was refreshing as so many teams seem to be built around and depend on one or two stars. Their relentlessness was talked about by broadcasters throughout the playoffs as they marveled at how good this team was.
The Royals had gone from an afterthought, to having the potential to put together a dynasty in the 2010s. Hopefully there is more in store for Royals fans in 2016.
