KC Royals: Dayton Moore Reclamation Projects

Miguel Tejada: Miss
Miguel Tejada had all the criteria met and was putting up the type of numbers to be considered a hit, but then he got caught using PEDs.
Miguel Tejada was in the middle of a nice bounce back season after not even cracking a major league team during the 2012 season. He was batting a respectable .288, and while he wasn’t putting up the power numbers that got him to six all-star games, he was helping push the offense.
To get caught cheating in the middle of a playoff hunt, the first in many years, is a selfish move that not only put an end to his comeback, but hurt everyone around him as well.
That being said, no matter how well the bounce back season was going in 2013, the 105 game suspension was good enough to land him on the ‘miss’ list.
The Royals have taken the baseball world by storm with their win as a team mentality over the past few seasons. Their ‘all for one, one for all’ approach at the plate has led to good numbers throughout the lineup with no one person responsible for carrying all of the weight.

If you just look at the numbers, Dayton Moore didn’t miss on this pick. Tejada did bounce back and put up a good average and had that ‘presence’ about him at the plate. But Dayton Moore also takes pride in his ‘character’ guys, and this one surely missed the mark where that’s concerned.
