With the Kansas City Chiefs‘ season over, the attention for fans now becomes who the Chiefs will select in the 2015 NFL Draft. The team has several positions in need of upgrades including offensive line and wide receiver.

My favorite part of draft season are all of the crazy mock drafts floating around on the internet. I thought it might be fun to do a weekly checkup on what different mocks are saying about who the Chiefs could take.

Andrus Peat

OT, Stanford

SB Nation has the Chiefs selecting Peat with the 18th overall pick.

It’s no surprise that one of the many mock drafts has the Kansas City Chiefs grabbing an offensive lineman in the first round. SB Nation predicts that the Chiefs will select Andrus Peat out of Stanford with their first round pick.

The offensive line was terrible in 2014. Alex Smith spent a lot of the season on the ground or getting beat up because his line couldn’t protect him. Andrus Peat hasn’t officially declared for the draft yet (he’s only a junior), but if he does, he’ll definitely be on Kansas City’s radar.

The Chiefs are in a tough spot at No. 18. Hope one of the top wide receivers slides to them, move up for one or add talent on the offensive line? Peat slid in this scenario, so he’s an easy choice. Peat is a junior who has been coy about going pro, though, so his decision leading up to the Jan. 15 underclassmen deadline will be closely monitored.
