New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (87) Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports
New England Patriots tight end Robert Gronkowski, aka “Yo Soy Fiesta”, is the #3 player on my list. Gronkowski is likely the most dominant player on this list. He has had double-digit touchdowns in three of the last four season, with a career high 17 trips to the end zone in 2011.
The problem with Gronkowski is that he rarely finishes a season. In his four seasons in the league, he has only started all 16 games once, and that was in that astonishing 2011 campaign.
But man is Gronkowski a player. He only played half of the season last year and still finished as a top 15 tight end. His catching ability, in addition to his ability to find an opening in the end zone, is unmatched.
And of course, Tom Brady will almost always look at Gronkowski first before throwing anywhere else. Starting receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola are both only 5’10”, while Gronkowski towers them at 6’6″.
If Gronkowski can stay healthy all season, he may be the best tight end in the NFL, and definitely one that you need in your starting lineup.
