Sporting KC kicked off the regular season against DC United last night in Washington. Here are the game grades for Sporting’s opening draw.

The MLS season is officially underway for Sporting KC as they faced off against DC United. It was a match that had a lot of exciting moments and near scores, but ultimately ended in a 0 – 0 draw. Sporting earns a point in the standings for the draw, but this is a game that will be remembered for what could have been.

There are some high expectations for Kansas City this year. The club made a number of high-profile moves in the offseason to bring in some more talent. This is a team that expects to win a lot given the investments they made. So a draw is still a little disappointing.

Obviously, we would prefer the season to start off with a win. However, that’s the thing about soccer, even if you don’t win…you don’t have to lose either. Drawing a point is still drawing a point, so that’s the silver lining in all of this.

So how did the team look in their opening draw against DC United?
